Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Eliseev met with Deputy Secretary General Claudio Bizonyero.

 

K. Eliseev informed the High Representative of the Alliance about major domestic events after electing a new President of Ukraine. He focused on priorities of foreign policy, which new Head of State and Government consider to be key.  

 

The sides discussed issues of bilateral dialogue between Ukraine and NATO and stressed the importance of fulfilling Annual National Program of cooperation between Ukraine and the Alliance for the current year.

 

K. Bizonyero expressed appreciation of the NATO Ukraine's contribution to international peace and security. He welcomed the formation of the new Government of Ukraine and assured in the Alliance's readiness to assist our country in reforms. For its part, K. Eliseev expressed appreciation for the Alliance's decision to provide practical assistance to Ukraine in connection with complex environmental situation in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
